The proof is right in front of you:

This week I have been asking you to consider this thought: how can you fix the problems when you don’t believe in what you are being asked to fix?

This week, the President has made news as Congressman Anthony Weiner has also made the news. The presidents approval ratings are now in the tank with over 51% of the people polled disapproving of the president’s performance. 51% of New Yorkers in his district Brooklyn say that Anthony Weiner should not step down.

When you consider who is in office and who is doing what in office, two names pop up, Barack Obama and Anthony Weiner. Both are progressive liberals and both have used their power to enact a progressive agenda. I wouldn’t have a problem with a progressive, if they engaged in intellectual debates over ideas instead of coming up with ideas to enact progressive legislation without the process of debate.

Today, a U.S. court is considering the question of the constitutionality of Obama care. The arguments today will begin the process of sending the case to the U.S. Supreme Court for a decision on the constitutionality of Obamacare. At issue is this: does the Government have the right to regulate the purchasing inactivity of a private citizen and does it have the right to mandate that a private citizen purchase a product or service?. This question would not have come up had the President and the Congressman not forced the law down the throats of private citizens through the process of House and Senate rules. The debate did not occur because the power of pushing a progressive agenda ruled the day.

Today, the President said that he is not concerned about a double dip recession. The reason why the arrogance of this president is now becoming apparent is because he has no plan in place to improve job growth and economic growth, because he doesn’t believe in what he is being asked to fix.

Today, Anthony Weiner said he will not step down. The reason why the arrogance of this Congressman is now becoming apparent is because he didn’t want to fix his problem. I believe he needs some serious counseling which he could have gotten. The moral question is out of the debate because he is a progressive and we cannot use the word moral in the same sentence with progressive without being called a racist a homophobe or even worse an extremist.

In these two cases both men have elevated themselves above the debate because both have supporters who make it possible for them to be elevated from the debate. The President has the Unions because of the money that was given to them by the president through TARP and stimulus. Anthony has his supporters in New York who refuse to see the moral side of the Congressman’s actions against him because the congressman made sure that his constituents got all the aid and all the entitlements they want. Some say the Congressman is a good progressive. Some of the Congressman’s supporters are now saying that the Congressman deserves an apology from America!

In both cases these two men have violated the moral the legal and the proper plan with using regulation and/ or the power of the office to either push a progressive agenda and/ or to ignore the will of the people.

I have said all week long: how can you fix the problems when you don’t believe in what you are being asked to fix?

The President could change his ideas and could meet the level of compromise that is needed not only in coming up with a budget but also in governing for the benefit of all. His Ideology prevents him from doing this because he does not believe in what he is being asked to fix.

The Congressman could step down from office and demonstrate the respect that all he serves deserves. He won’t because he doesn’t believe in doing the right thing. The other reason is he got caught but the lies are of no significance to him because he is only interested in the power that comes from holding office.

The proof is now right in front of you. You can choose to go down the road that will keep these types of politicians in power or you can choose to go down the road that will reduce the opportunity for these kind politicians to gain the power they enjoy. The proof is right in front of you, just look for it and listen for it.

A footnote: While you consider the question that I posed this week ask yourself another question when the proof is right in front of you and you have looked and you have listened - what do you do then!
