Where do we stand now?

Tuesday-August 31, 2010

Where do we stand now?

As I listened to the President complain about the misinformation that is floating around out there about his religion and about the question of his personal theology I was struck by a comment that my neighbor made. My neighbor that votes both ways and who is Jewish voted for Obama. He said to me yesterday that he (OBAMA) is a disaster and that if he could take his vote back he would. I said that is impossible but you don’t have to give him your vote next time.

My neighbor Ron, went on to say that he worries about the quality or the lack of quality of life that his grand children will have. Ron is close to retirement and he says I’m through but my grand children will be left with the price tag. He went on to say that this President is ruining this country.

We have all heard this argument before. We have all heard what was I thinking by giving this guy my vote? We have heard the bellowing and the concern. I say it’s not my fault I didn’t vote for the guy. We have heard that one too.

What you might not have heard is some statistics that will help you organize those folks who want to take back their vote. While the President is complaining about misinformation I have some real information from the Presidents own government.

Since the recession started roughly 22 months ago 1 in 6 Americans are now enrolled in some sort of government poverty program.

50 million people are now on Medicaid up 17%
40 million people are now getting food stamps up 50%
10 million people are now collecting some unemployment compensation up 40%
4.4 million people are now on welfare up 18%

Since the recession started the federal program cost of Medicaid is up by 36% or 273 billion dollars.

Since the recession started jobless benefits are up $117 billion to $160 billion.

Since the recession started food stamps are up 80% to $70 billion.

Since the recession started welfare cost are up 25% to $22 billion.

This is something to complain about. This something to question and this is something to consider when you vote. This is something that occurs when people who make decisions are not capable of making the right decision or who are purposely creating a dependent class.

We have heard stories about people who are collecting this aid and refuse to work because they make more on the aid than they did by working. I have written about this as well.

I would like to relate a little story about myself. I lost my job in January of 2001. I was an executive and I had an office with a staff. I thought the rest of my career would be with the company I was employed by at the time. I made it through an acquisition and I made it through a recession. My work ethic was good and I taught many the ethics that I had.

Long story short in January of 2001 I lost my job to down sizing, reorganizing call it what you may it was a shock. I started immediately to secure interviews and during the mid point of that summer I thought a few offers would be forth coming in the fall. I was feeling good.

I was assuring myself that by fall time I would be employed. Then it happened, 911. All the offers all the promise disappeared. It disappeared in the smoke that we all witnessed. Did I complain? No, I knocked on my neighbor’s door and I said Mike I need work and your house needs painting. That created a business. I created a market and I became a general contractor. You might not have known that story. My purpose in relating that is I didn’t complain. My purpose in relating this story is that I could have gone on some government program but I didn’t it’s not in my ideology.

While we listen to the President we are witnessing what will be the tenor and the tone of the democrats as they ask for your vote in November. The statistics that I began today’s FORUM with are not the fault of you or the system. It is the fault of an ideology of a President that is reduced to complaining about misinformation. The only misinformation is what is coming from the White House. The only misinformation is the story line that says government is the way out and the way forward.

A footnote: 63 days of misinformation is headed our way. Don’t be fooled there are more people like my neighbor Ron who wish they could take their vote back. You just have to make sure they get to the polls and vote against those whose ideology is for big government

It's not over!

Monday – August 30, 2010

It’s not over!

Rasmussen Reports that the daily tracking poll for The President has, once again, dipped. 27% of the nation’s voters strongly approve of the way that the President is performing his roll. 41% strongly disapprove, giving the President a negative -15.

This week, the President will rebrand himself. He needs to act presidential and he needs to shore up his base to get that negative number up. He will not talk about the economy and he will not talk healthcare.

So where does he go from here? He ended his 6th vacation yesterday with a stop in New Orleans. He is taking all the credit for the last five years of rebuilding since Hurricane Katrina and committing more money for future restoration. He will get votes there.

On Tuesday, he will address the nation about the end of U.S. Combat Operations in Iraq. He will take credit for ending the war. He will say that, as a candidate, he campaigned on ending the war and as president he did. The war is still going on there. There are 50,000 troops acting in an advisory capacity. Iran is still at the doorstep in Iraq and will provoke the peace with military border missions there. The President will not talk about Iran, because he needs to be a victor.

He will not give President Bush credit for the military surge that brought the U.S. to this point in Iraq. Obama was against the surge, but he will take credit for it, without mentioning it. He will assume the victors crown and he will get a certain amount of votes for just saying the war is over.

At the end of the week, the Israeli - Palestinian talks begin. How many Presidents have held these talks and how many treaties have been made and broken? The President will push for a two state solution, because it is popular in Europe, but not feasible. The Secretary of State will sit in many of these meetings and will not really do much except to move the process and say they have a year to work out the difficulties.

The President will take credit for a victory due to the progress of these talks. Nothing will result and nothing will come in the way of a solution. President Abbas West Bank - Palestinian President warned Sunday that he will not back down from his threat to pull out of new peace talks with Israel, if it resumes construction in West Bank settlements. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not necessarily back down from construction of settlements in the West Bank. The moratorium on building ends on September 30 of this year.

The Palestinians have been pawns by Hamas and the other Arab states. Abbas is facing internal opposition from Palestinian hard-liners, especially Hamas, for agreeing to return to the negotiating table. The Islamic Hamas, which rules Gaza and has a significant presence in the West Bank, rejects any contact with Israel. Other Palestinians criticize Abbas for not securing Israeli concessions in advance of the talks.

President Obama has no choice but to call for a truce and try to salvage these talks. At the same time, he will be trying to salvage his base on this issue. He will get some votes for his efforts.

Remember one thing, at the end of the week, all this results in window dressing for a failed administration here at home and now abroad.

On todays date, in 1781, the French fleet with 24 ships under the command of Compte de Grasse defeated the British under Admiral Graves at the battle of Chesapeake Capes in the Revolutionary war. On today’s date, in 1776, the U.S. Army evacuates Long Island and falls back to Manhattan to regroup. I bring up these events in history to demonstrate war is a constant thing in the world.

These battles resulted in the creation of The United States the leader of the free world. The emphasis this week will be on the Middle East. The difference in these struggles are with the characters and there agendas. The difference here is that the players are out to destroy freedom and the President is trapped between a rock and a hard place. The rock is the election in November and the hard place is of his own making, because of his agenda.

Inspiration; where do you find it?

Friday – August 27, 2010

Inspiration; where do you find it?

I asked my associate pastor where he got his inspiration when he was preparing his sermons. It was a casual question and the answer was casual, but inspiring. Though the answer I will keep to myself we did have a common source.

We get inspiration from what makes us happy, from what makes us mad and from what we think should be changed. My inspiration comes daily. I work and then I write. I observe and I take action. The action I take becomes a source of inspiration to others. Just as others who take to heart their freedom their liberty and the mere fact that something is askew in our national picture.

Our national picture is a mosaic of religion, faith, national pride and the desire to be a part of something great. Some of us are perfectly content to sit idle and take care of their little piece of the world. That is fine and I respect those that do take care of their little piece of the world by obeying the law and protecting those they love. I respect those that work hard or try to improve their conditions. This is all a form of inspiration that motivates us to make a difference.

But when is time to take a stand and speak up? Yesterday, I wrote about what a political metric is. Part of the metric we are now seeing develop is enthusiasm. This is inspiration to some and a threat to others. If a threat can be inspiring then those who are threatened will find the motivation to act. My message is this: don’t get complacent and think that others will do the work that is necessary to bring the change that is required so that we can enjoy the inspiration that gave us liberty and freedom.

This week, the President was on his sixth vacation since he took office. It has been reported that the President and the First Lady dined on lobster when ever they saw it on the menu. They are in Maine and that is where lobster is served. On a private vacation to the Gulf last month, the First Lady also dined on lobster. Of course, it was flown in from Maine, because lobsters can’t be found in the Gulf waters. It’s not because the oil scared them off, they just don’t grow there.

The President was asked a question while out and about at Martha’s Vineyards this week. A reporter asked about the Gulf War and the President said, “Hey guys we’re buying shrimp.” He was inspired to not answer the question, because he was on vacation. 475,000 people lost their jobs last week. The Dow dipped below 10,000 yesterday, housing starts are at their lowest in decades and 10% of the mortgages in this country were 90 days late.

My inspiration does not come from lobster and shrimp. I can never remember a President taking 6 vacations and living solely on lobster and shrimp. If they did, they did not make it public in times of financial stress and national uncertainty.

Maybe the inspiration of this President comes from the organizing that is going on right now with the Democratic Party. Maybe the inspiration comes from the organizers that will manipulate the laws and create new voters out of thin air. Maybe he gets inspiration from just being King.

I don’t know and I can’t be sure of the source of his inspiration, but I can be sure that he can be beat. I am sure that his party can be beat. I bring up some of these dull stories from time to time to motivate some of us who are just simple folks making a simple living and living in a simple house with a simple white picket fence. This is where the President and his Party will be beat.

On Fridays, I leave you with a quote. Today I will use Jefferson, once again: ”The spirit of 1776 is not dead. It has only been slumbering. The body of the American people is substantially republican. But their virtuous feelings have been played on by some fact with more fiction; they have been dupes of artful maneuvers, and made for a moment to be willing instruments in forging chains for themselves. But times and truth dissipated the delusion, and opened their eyes.” -- Thomas Jefferson to Thomas Lomax, 1799

What do we have on our side?

Thursday-August 26, 2010

What do we have on our side?

There is no doubt that I follow the news. I follow Congress and I follow what the President says. There is a big difference when I say follow; it is not that I follow in the footsteps, but that I make my self aware of their words and their actions.

When you analyze all that has been done to the country in the last four years, since 2006 and you analyze the trends, it becomes very clear who the other side is. It becomes clear what the other side has done in hopes of advancing a progressive liberal agenda.

The Constitution has been ignored. Traditions of over two centuries have been under assault by groups who have a minority status. What I mean by a minority status is that small groups of activists who have banned together to create a liberal movement that would do away with tradition, the Constitution and liberty itself.

The politician who is only concerned about votes and getting re-elected will team up with these groups to survive. In Political Science class, we study the trends and analyze these politicians so that we can determine certain outcomes and decipher where the society is headed.

There is a term we use to describe certain action and or trend lines. For instance, those who are interested in voting trends will look at raw numbers these numbers tell us who have turned out to vote. Yesterday, I wrote that it is up to us to get out the vote. It is imperative that people who are concerned about the trends and the current direction get out and vote and make sure their friends and family do as well. I will have more on this in FORUMS going forward. However, for today’s discussion we must use this activity to describe what a political metric is.

The Political metric that is now becoming apparent is that enthusiasm is on our side. The political metric of enthusiasm is something that cannot be extinguished. On average over four million people have voted in Republican primaries. This number is not one that includes democrats who cross over in primaries. This number represents four million more people that have turned out to vote than the other side in this case the Democrats.

The political metric of enthusiasm will carry the day, if we get others enthused about the conservative agenda. Over the next few months, our main objective is to turn out the vote. We have a wide variety of candidates that are now seated in the primary victories. There will be a stark difference. The liberal will still be a liberal, but the Republican will be a new breed of politician that we must keep honest and true to the cause. If this election season ends up in the way we hope, we will have a chance to reverse the trends of progressive liberalism and end the Obama agenda.

The trends lines are now developing. The trend lines are now becoming consistent with victories by the few tea Party candidates and the other candidates who are talking the words of conservatism; like Marco Rubio, the Republican Candidate for the U.S. Senate in Florida.

The Political Metric is not something we should ignore. There is real cause to become excited and there is cause to talk about. Each day, I come up with another reason for you to get active and form a group of people who will take it upon themselves to get the vote out.

Use this term to explain the meaning of enthusiasm. Get people involved and come up with your equation of values, so that you can make sure your candidate looks at you instead of the other groups that have threatened the foundation of our liberty. The Political Metric of enthusiasm is nothing to fool around with. It will motivate and it will change the direction of many lives.

Max Baucus, Democrat Senator from Montana, recently said, in response to criticism of the passage of the healthcare bill, “I don’t think you want me to waste my time to read every page of the healthcare care bill. We hire experts to.” This is an alarming admission. This Senator is the reason why we are in the situation we are now in. This is one more reason to vote for a Conservative, because this liberal can’t be trusted to do his job!

I get mad when I hear these admissions, but I also get enthused, because I know the day of change is right around the corner and that is what we have on our side.

A footnote: The political metric will be measured and analyzed in 68 days. My prediction is that it will be measured with enthusiasm.

Is this just a bad dream?

Wednesday-August 25, 2010

Is this just a bad dream?

No, it’s more than that. The nation is in a crisis. Our leaders are off on vacation and the voting citizens are left working for their living and, as a result, they are keeping the nation’s economy from falling further in its free fall.

The Dow is down and new housing starts are at an all time low. They have fallen 27.5%, the lowest since May of 1995. While the administration is in dream mode and telling us that this is the summer of recovery, 500,000 people lost their jobs last week. The new numbers of job losses are expected to be the same this week.

The symptoms of a weak economy have not been extinguished. The administration still believes that more economic stimuli will cure the problem. Since Keynesian economics advocates the public sector to step in to assist the economy in general, it is a significant departure from popular economic thought which predicted – laissez-fair capitalism. Simply put, laissez-fair capitalism supported the exclusion of the public sector in the market. The belief was that an unfettered market would achieve balance on its own. Proponents of free market capitalism include the Austrian School of economic thought; one of its earliest founders, Fredrich von Hayek 1899 – 1992, also lived in England, alongside John Maynard Keynes, 1883 – 1946 ( Keynesian economics ). The two had a public rivalry for many years because of their opposing thoughts on the role of the state in the economic lives of individuals.

The bad dream is that under Hayek things could be good and under Keynes things are a nightmare. Part of the bad dream is that every democrat, progressive liberal etc., etc., has tried some form of government intervention in the economy and it has always failed. Now it has really failed.

When an administration has advisors that continually recommend the wrong advice and or advice that is late in coming then we need to rectify the problem. If this administration was a corporation, each member of the team would be fired, including the chief executive. Simply put, a nightmarish scenario like this one will not improve. How can it? We have no significant growth. What market and what leading economic indicator are up?

I am not an economist. I am a person that is trying to get the word out. I read and I observe. What I have read and what I have observed is a nightmare. With all the rumors about the president’s ideology, his religious affiliation or even his status as an American citizen, we must start to realize that he is just plain wrong and his actions are wrong. The people who came out to support him were wrong and the people who voted for him were wrong. There are now too many wrongs in the plus - minus column.

Yesterday, I wrote that with each election we should be gaining more liberty and more freedom. Political Science will tell us that various forms of government and government action will take freedom away for the expressed purpose of control. This is also a nightmare that we must now realize is a reality.

James Madison was the fourth President of the United States, 1809 – 1817, he was also a founding father (1751-1836). He said: “Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted, bastardized form of illegitimate government.”

The administration has separated the text of reality from the text of historical background. This administration has subverted the constitution along with every other progressive regime in our history. The basis of a free government is to improve the lives of its citizens and its culture. We now have the opposite. With the latest economic trends and the latest job numbers many of our citizens are having nightmares and it can now be blamed on our government.

Many people are working, just to survive. Many are working, because they have to. And many want to work, because they need to. With no plan for real job creation or a real plan for economic growth, we will continue this nightmare. In two years, people will be calling for four more years. These are the voices that were wrong to begin with.

To create jobs, you need a confident business sector that will invest in job creation. No government program will accomplish this. Just read the words of Hayek, then compare them to Keynes.

A footnote: There are 69 days until we vote in the midterms. I can give you 69 reasons why you need to get out the vote to change Congress. The first reason is the bad dream that we are now witnessing.

Words and where we should be!

Tuesday-August 24, 2010

Words and where we should be!

With every election, we should be moving towards more liberty and more freedom. With every election, the politician will tell us the words, but not necessarily believe in them. We all know this, but we still keep voting in the people that take away our liberty and our freedom.

The issue of the Mosque, in New York, is not going away. The politicians that should be saying something, are silent on the topic. The politicians that are saying something are now being called Islamophobic. This is a terrible word, because it unfairly labels those who are looking at this issue in the way it should be looked at.

While we are finding out more and more about the Imam, who wants to build this Mosque, we are also finding out more about the backing of the Imam and where the money is coming from.
The latest Rasmussen poll has 54% of voters opposing the building of the Mosque at Ground Zero, in New York City. At this point most Americans don’t seem to be engaged with the story. Just 22% say they are following the story closely and another 29% say they are following somewhat closely. These numbers will get larger, because this issue is not going away.
Most of the people I talk to connect this Mosque with the radical Islam movement of the Taliban, Al-Qaida and with the radical element in Iran. There is a connection and the words tell us where we are now, as a nation, and where the world is with this threat.

Every movement in history, that has been out to destroy the United States, has done it through breaking down the fundamental strength of our society. The communists attempted it through breaking down the family unit. The socialists are doing it through big government and the radical element of Islam is doing it through religion. In each case, the attempts have been to breakdown our society and divide us so that we are forced to take sides.

The country is now in a quiet civil war with each issue. The results of these divisions over Healthcare, religion and the weak family structure are in the inner cities and now the suburbs. Edmund Burke, a British Parliamentarian, orator and political philosopher, was in favor of the American Revolution, but was not in favor of the French Revolution. Burke was praised by both conservatives and liberals in the nineteenth century and since the twentieth century he has generally been viewed as the philosophical founder of modern conservatism he said: “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”

These are the words that I am searching for from our politicians. These are the words that we should now be demanding when we speak of the evil that is once again threatening this land and all those who favor liberty and freedom.

The opposition of the Mosque by Americans who see this threat and know what the victory of symbolism will be to the radical are now causing for increased terrorist chatter from abroad.
When words are used they tell the story. We must be vigilant and we must listen closely to what they mean. Case in point: the new drone that Iran is now testing is called the Ambassador of Death. We didn’t name it, they did. The radical element that wants a Mosque at Ground Zero named a weapon that could be a weapon of mass destruction of Israel. Every American should be outraged! Every Jew should be outraged and every member of the government should be outraged! While the President is on vacation, we don’t see the outrage.

In our society, when a weapon is made, we name it The Flying Fortress or the Liberator. These labels tell the story of the American mission. It is for sure the Ambassador of Death is labeled for a mission as well.

As we enter into this political season, after Labor Day, we must consider the words the politicians use and use our words to tell them what we want. Our words should be outrage, concern and we shouldn’t forget the words of liberty and freedom. It was these words that started a nation on the course of greatness. As I opened today’s FORUM, I made a statement: with every election we should be moving towards more liberty and more freedom.

A footnote: More liberty and more freedom are just 70 days away. Start motivating people who truly believe that good men and women have a duty to extend liberty and freedom. At the end of the day, this is all we have.

What should be in the news!

Monday – August 23, 2010

What should be in the news!

After Saturday’s events in Iran, with the loading of the rods into the nuclear reactors, Iran tested a new delivery system. It is an unmanned drone that will be capable of delivering a nuclear warhead into Israel and beyond with further development..

It has been a custom of U.S. Presidents to vacation in August. The Bush’s did it during their time of peril. The Clinton’s did it and even Reagan did it. But when this President did it, we sent a message. It is one more message of weakness, because this administration has moved the line in the sand back each time a major event has occurred in Iran. What other conclusion could this enemy have of us. I find it interesting that Iran’s nuclear program has been accelerated under this president’s watch

On September 2nd, the U.S., the Palestinians and Israel will start the peace talks again. Each side has dug in and if this administration does not get a victory, it will be another sign of this administration’s diminished role and diminished stature in the world of politics and leadership.

What has not been in the news is why Israel has not attacked Iran’s nuclear sites. They are hardened underground installations that could be penetrated or significantly harmed and unable to produce nuclear energy and fuel. They can be destroyed and they can be eliminated, if there is a will. I am sure Israel has it, but this Administration doesn’t.

The Rasmussen daily tracking poll for Sunday, August 22, 2010 shows that twenty five (25%) of the nations voters strongly approve of the way the president is performing his role as president. Forty two (42%) strongly disapprove, giving the president an approval rating of negative 17 (-17).

One thing for sure is that Iran is part of the 25% that approves of the way this president is performing. Israel on the other hand is part of the 42% that disapproves. You will not hear this in the news.

When Reagan created “the trust but verify” option, the Russians had no choice or option but to trust and verify because that was what Reagan wanted. The Russians who are helping the Iranians with this program are saying “just trust us, we will do the verifying now!” This you will not hear in the news.

It is no easy task to go to war or design covert operations of the magnitude that would take out these nuclear facilities. However, these sites just didn’t appear and the threat has not recently made itself known. As history will tell us again, it is a lot easier to take early action instead of denying the events when they appear. This story will not be in the news.

Another story that will not be in the news this week is what Barney Frank has said about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. These financial lending institutions have been run by the government and as a result, caused the meltdown and great recession that started in 2008. Frank, a Congressman from Massachusetts, is the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee admitted, "it was a great mistake to push lower-income people into housing they couldn't afford and couldn't really handle once they had it." He then added, "I had been too sanguine about Fannie and Freddie."

In other comments he said, “I hope by next year we'll have abolished Fannie and Freddie.”
When asked about a long - term phase out plan that would shrink Fannie and Freddie and establish new mortgage – purchase limits, and merge them into the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) for separate low income families and keep the government out of the middle income housing subsidies, he replied: “ that, I think, is exactly what we should be doing."
Frank also said that any federal housing program should be transparently priced and put on budget. But he then added that the private sector must be encouraged to re-enter the housing finance market as the government gradually pulls out. What will not be in the news is the story of why the government got into the business in the first place.

Some political watchers might say that Frank’s mea culpa is politically motivated. The reason is that in the November midterms big government is public enemy no.1 and number 2. Poll after poll show that the $150 billion dollars that was given to these organizations in the form of bail out and which will rise to 400 billion is detested by even the most liberal voter in Massachusetts.

The fact of the matter is that failed government agencies are in such bad shape that they can’t even pay their dividends that are owed under the conservatorship deal that was reached two years ago by this same Congress. For Fannie and Freddie to pay the $1.8 billion dividend on the department of treasury stock they had to borrow $1.5 billion from the tax payer. In other words, you paid for it again!

I think Barney is running as a conservative just to get re-elected again. “You can’t teach an old dog, new tricks.”

Thomas Jefferson wrote to John Adams in 1786:”I like to see the people awake and alert. The good sense of the people will soon lead them back if they have erred in a moment of surprise.”

A footnote: With 71 days until the midterms you can teach old dogs new tricks. Talk to those who are questioning what is happening in Washington and relate some of this information. Some of these old dogs are questioning why they voted for this President and this Congressman.

Religion and ideology they are connected!

Friday – August 20, 2010

Religion and ideology they are connected!

I didn’t like the conversation this week over the FORUM. The reason is that I am uncomfortable talking about religion, because it is special to me. I have faith and I would never say to anyone that they couldn’t worship their own God.

I believe our Constitution sets the proper boundaries and I believe our creator is God. I believe our forefathers had religion in mind when they created the documents that gave us our liberty and freedom. I brought up a word this week that does fit into religion and faith. The word is ideology. Sometimes our ideology gets in the way of our faith and this is why I separate the two. I am perfectly comfortable discussing ideology and having a debate about Conservative versus progressive ideology and which one is better. When religion is discussed, we must consider faith and what that faith is.

This week, there has been a lot of discussion about the mosque that Muslims want to build at Ground Zero. The dissenting side has in their ideology a reason as to why it shouldn’t be built there and the liberal side has in their ideology as to why it should. A big part of the liberal ideology is based on secularism. This is why much of our religion and religious customs are being tossed aside. My ideology says that is wrong especially when one religion that is foreign to this country is given the green light, because of their laws and customs.

Our forefathers never would have let this happen, let alone the secular movement over the past fifty years. The proof is in what they said.

The Mayflower Compact (authored by William Bradford) 1620 Signing of the Mayflower painting Picture of Compact“Having undertaken, for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God, and one of another, covenant and combine our selves together…”

"I have examined all religions, as well as my narrow sphere, my straightened means, and my busy life, would allow; and the result is that the Bible is the best Book in the world. It contains more philosophy than all the libraries I have seen." December 25, 1813 letter to Thomas Jefferson

Charles Carroll - signer of the Declaration of Independence Portrait of Charles Carroll" Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime and pure...are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments." [Source: To James McHenry on November 4, 1800.]

In Benjamin Franklin's 1749 plan of education for public schools in Pennsylvania, he insisted that schools teach "the excellency of the Christian religion above all others, ancient or modern."

Patrick Henry:"Orator of the Revolution." • This is all the inheritance I can give my dear family. The religion of Christ can give them one which will make them rich indeed.”—The Last Will and Testament of Patrick Henry

“It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason, peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.” [May 1765 Speech to the House of Burgesses]

“The Bible is worth all other books which have ever been printed.”
I do not take these words lightly and this is why I am comfortable with speaking about religion in the context of what the founders believed.

When I speak about the President and his religion, we still have a question mark. His religion will dictate his ideology. When you look at how he has treated the war on terrorism, saying the word terrorism will not be used. He has given the enemy asylum and has aided the enemy in their conquest of our society by his actions. He has a diluted brand of religion that took roots in his early childhood. His father was an atheist, his grandfather and grandmother were Muslims. He spent twenty years in the church of the Reverend Wright, which is a Black theology church. I have no problem with this, because some would say that his form of theology is a religion. This can be debated but we will give it the benefit of the doubt. My problem is that he has not leveled with those who put him in office.

His religion is a mystery and his ideology is not. So inferences can be made. The first family has not picked a church to worship in, but he has prayer sessions in the White House. I have no problem with that, but he still has not been specific in his religious preferences. Every President has taken pains to make his religion public and known. This president has kept it a secret.

Every President that has been elected has used the words of God and Christianity in matters of faith and in times when faith mattered. This president has not. If this president is a Muslim he should just come out and say it. If he is an atheist he should come out and admit it. If he believes in black theology, then use it. If he is a Christian, then don’t be afraid of it.

I have offered seven quotes to end the week with. I believe this is proof positive of how we started the discussion of America. Religion is a part of the culture and now ideology might be even more important.

A footnote: There are 74 days to raise the question of religion and ideology these are just two more topics to organize around. The economy is still number one but then the Presidents ideology and the progressive ideology has a part in that too. The new unemployment claims for the week hit 500,000 jobs lost.

The main reason!

Thursday – August 19, 2010

The main reason!

Stand up America! Stand up for your country, your Constitution and our heritage! Stand up for America, because one day she will do you proud!

Some people are standing up and some people are standing up for political correctness. Some people are standing up for secularization and some are standing up for merging religion and merging culture, so that we are a blend of what government wants us to be.

This is the main reason why we must stand up against big government and those that want to do away with the diversity they talk about. The political leaders today don’t want a free vote and don’t want a free society that is based on principled values that are derived from the Declaration of Independence and which are guaranteed by the Constitution.

The Forefathers, which I refer to on a continued basis, were absolutely sure in their intent and in the way these documents were written and conceived. The founding fathers were sure of their principled values and were absolutely sure of their values in God, the Creator. The Declaration of Independence makes inference to the Creator at least six times. Though they were not explicit in the type of religion to practice, the founding fathers were explicit in that government would not establish a religion.

This week, Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House and the third in line to the Presidency, said: “The building of the Mosque in New York is a local zoning issue.” She went on to say that she “doesn’t know who is ginning up the opposition to this, but she would like to investigate where the money is coming from to support the opposition.”

I would expect something like that to be said in Red China, Iran or The Soviet Union, now Russia. Oh, and I shouldn’t forget to mention Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea. You get the picture. This is what I mean by big government. Big government is not interested in the truth. Their only interest is to criminalize free speech and criminalize dissent.

The Conservatives did not bring this Mosque issue into the forefront this week. The President did. Where are all the rest of the supporters of free speech on this issue? Where is the condemnation of investigating those who practice free speech? Where does the president stand on the issue of investigating those who dissent against what is now the status quo?

Big, bloated government has no other choice, but to take the action that Ms. Pelosi suggested. This is the main reason to condemn big government and those who keep growing it.

What good has come from four years of government growth? We have large deficits that can not be paid back. We now have a diluted formula of freedom. Our liberties are under assault every day and the basis of a Judeo-Christian based society has all but vanished. The main reason it has vanished is because of the progressive liberal who wants a blind religion and a blind faceless society. When we loose our diversity, our traditions and replace them with a faceless belief then nothing matters. We become a faceless entity that government dictates policy to and provides the essentials of life to.

The building of a Mosque is not criminal. The building of a Mosque is encouraged. The building of a Mosque is welcomed. However, the building of this Mosque at Ground Zero is a mistake and it is a slap in the face to those who died and those who are fighting for our way of life.

Yesterday, I wrote about the possibility of the Muslim faith wanting separation between Mosque and State. This is not far from reality. The Muslim faith forbids non Muslims from entering the city of Mecca and Medina. The Koran once preached not to take Jews and Christians as friends. This is their religion. It is a way of life and it will threaten our way of life, because of their laws. They will not adopt our Constitution and will not adopt our customs. In the mean time, we have taken prayer out of schools and made it possible for Muslims to pray in the schools. We have taken nativity scenes out of the public squares and have made it possible for chanting at noon time in our cities over loud speakers in the public domain, for all non believers to listen to.

The building of the Mosque is called the Cordoba Initiative. This is titled after the Muslim’s took over a Christian Church in Spain and made that it into a Mosque. There is no Muslim community in the financial district where the proposed site is. If this Mosque is built there they will win the battle of religious symbolism. They will have established a home under their law in the world’s financial capital.

George Washington said of immigration:”Let them assimilate and let them assimilate quickly.” We are a nation of immigrant’s; we are a successful nation because a balance has occurred in the assimilation. When immigrants don’t assimilate then our laws and traditions cease to be the cornerstone and the reason to assimilate.

I am not against the Muslim faith. I know many Muslims and I enjoy my relationship with them. You would not have any idea they are Muslims if you didn’t know. I am talking about the radical side of the Muslim faith and the Imam who is backing the building of the Mosque who is radical in his beliefs.

I would rather have Nancy Pelosi investigate the money behind the building of the Mosque. We just may find out some interesting people who support radical Islam and we would sure find out who the Imam really is. Because of big government, we won’t, we will only criminalize the citizens that are practicing their Constitutional rights while the Imam is cherishing every minute of it, while this government is paying him to get financial support from abroad.

The progressive will continue to pick and choose winners and losers. This is part of their ideology, but not part of the Declaration and our Constitution. This is why we must stand up and be proud of America. The main reason, because we can!

A footnote: There are now 75 days to stand up and very simply just vote out the likes of Pelosi. My message to Ms. Pelosi: go ahead investigate me!

What is an ideology?

Wednesday - August 18, 2010

What is an ideology?

This week, I started by giving you my thoughts about what the news of the week would be. I have been pretty much on point every Monday. As I write, I like to develop a theme. These themes are intentional, because they give direction in development of thought and it gives me more experience in developing conservative thought and a way to create action.

My purpose is just that. To give another perspective and another view of history and current events, while interjecting conservative thought, because the action comes from you.

Monday I wrote:

As President, you cannot give tacit approval to an enemy and a religion that has in its roots hatred towards the West and every thing the West stands for. This enemy is not only politically based, but it is a religious based enemy that is using our laws and our culture against us and we are weak to defend it and we are stupid not to.

Conservative thought and action is the only defense of our laws and of our culture. The progressive would give in just to have the political correctness and the satisfaction that a mosque is built at ground zero under the guise of religious freedom. At the same time a Greek Orthodox Church, St Nicholas, at ground zero was destroyed after the trade center collapsed on 911. This Church has been fighting for its rebirth and survival while the City of New York has stood moot on the passage of the permits. At the same time, it gives the approval to build a Mosque only a few blocks away. As Americans, we should be outraged that a foreign Mosque is given a fast track, while a Greek Orthodox Church is given the slow track. It has nothing to do with religious freedom. It has everything to do with what is right and what is wrong. It has every thing to do with sensitivity and the loss that was caused by the hand of radical Muslims who attacked our country on 911.

This is what is meant by my words on Monday:

The most recent FOX news dynamic polls show that 61% of he people polled say that the proponents of the Mosque have a right to build it, while 64% say its wrong to build it at Ground Zero. This is the issue at hand and it is what history will show us. This Mosque will be able to take advantage of our tax exempt laws and they will use the law as a religious freedom argument to implement the Islamic Sharia law here. This is a religion that will not stop, until it becomes world law - when a religion attempts to do that it ceases to become a religion.

Our forefathers were explicit in their usage of the word Christianity and the usage of the term Church and State. The Islamic radicals will fight for a new term of Mosque and State and subvert our laws to protect Mosque and State. You heard it here first!

While the left is labeling all those who oppose Sharia law and the building of the Mosque as bigots, we can’t forget who the bigots are. Just last week, the Taliban stoned two women to death for disobeying Sharia law. It is the conservative who will save this country and not the bigots who label those who understand the meaning of the Constitution and religion as bigots.

It is unfortunate that the President has, once again, divided the country and has, once again, shown his true colors. They are not Red, White and Blue. They are the colors of the mask of those who will raid and murder under the name of religion.

This President is nothing more than an agitator. He is ill advised, he is naive, he is not capable, he is an ideologue and he is hell bent on the destruction of our traditions and our Christian values. The new Gallop Poll has 51% of voters saying they disapprove of the job this president is doing. If this President were running a corporation he would be fired.

I think we, as citizens, must now consider this President unfit to continue in office. At least with Biden we would know not to take what he says seriously!

It is the ideology that we must now consider to be the enemy. It is about the total picture of what has happened in the first two years of this presidency. Let the progressives say “he is doing a great job, because look at what he has done.” This is the danger, because clear thinking people now see what he has done and they don’t like it.

If you had to take all the problems of the world and boil it down, you would see that it is now about ideology. You would see where the boiling points are. Iran is just one and you would see Islamic radicalism is about the destruction of the West and the values that the West has. We need a leader that favors the West and wants to preserve the West in the tradition of Washington, Adams and Jefferson.

You can answer the question for yourself: what ideology do you want?

Is it any surprise?

Tuesday – August 17, 2010

Is it any surprise?

Yesterday, I wrote about three things that would occupy the news this week. So far, I was right and it’s only Tuesday.

Secretary of Defense, Bill Gates, announced he would retire early in 2011. Could it be that he does not want to be part of the failure that we know now exists? Could it be that his ideology is keeping him from staying? Could it be that when Iran gets the bomb he does not want to take the fall, because of the ideology of the Commander in Chief?

The president said, on August 14, that he would not comment on the “wisdom of building a Mosque on the site of ground zero.” Why not just say that it is wrong and there are other places that this Muslim cultural center and Mosque can be built. His ideology prohibits him from doing this.

John Adams, our 2nd president, said: "We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” -- October 11, 1798

On July 17th, in 1768, the BOSTON GAZETTE published the “Liberty Song” written and composed by patriot John Dickenson. This song was America’s first patriotic song. It went like this:
Come, join hand in hand, brave Americans all,And rouse your bold hearts at fair Liberty's call;No tyrannous acts shall suppress your just claim,Or stain with dishonor America's name.
In Freedom we're born and in Freedom we'll live. Our purses are ready. Steady, friends, steady; Not as slaves, but as Freemen our money we'll give.
Our worthy forefathers, let's give them a cheer,To climates unknown did courageously steer;Thro' oceans to deserts for Freedom they came,And dying, bequeath'd us their freedom and fame.
The tree their own hands had to Liberty rear'd,They lived to behold growing strong and revered; With transport they cried, Now our wishes we gain,For our children shall gather the fruits of our pain.
Then join hand in hand, brave Americans all,By uniting we stand, by dividing we fall;In so righteous a cause let us hope to succeed,For heaven approves of each generous deed.
Is it any surprise that the words of Adams were recorded in written records? Is it any surprise that the words spoken and the songs that were written back then were defended? I am sure that many in Congress or even the President do not know of this song or what John Adams said. Not surprising, because it is not in their ideology any longer.
Adams went on to write: “The general principles upon which the Fathers achieved independence were the general principals of Christianity… I will avow that I believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.”• “[July 4th] ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.”–John Adams in a letter written to Abigail on the day the Declaration was approved by Congress
The purpose of today’s FORUM is not to question religious preference. It is for the purpose to show the intent of what the forefathers created this country for. It is for the purpose to show the intent of principled liberty and freedom. It is about the wisdom that the forefathers had and knew they had. It is about their wisdom that they were not afraid to talk about or to defend, when their ideology was questioned.
United States Senator Debbie Stabenow (Michigan) introduced a bill in the Senate this week. It is called the “American’s Want to Work Bill.” This bill would increase unemployment benefits by another 22 weeks. This is the ideology of the Progressive. The title alone is misguided. Americans don’t work for unemployment benefits, so why call it Americans Want to Work? Do the things necessary to create an environment so that the business community gets the confidence to invest in workers. Right now there is no confidence, because of the ideology of people like the Senator. Is it any surprise?

A footnote: In 77 days we will get a chance to replace the ideology of the majority in Washington. Is it any surprise that the forefathers designed a system so that we could!

The story of history: It's the Ideology!

Monday – August 16, 2010

The story of history: It’s the Ideology!

Last Friday, I ended my FORUM with a quote by Jefferson. He said, “History, in general, only informs us of what bad government is.”

History will tell us that this present administration, this president and this current congress will be the worst this country has ever seen. Jefferson’s words will live to, once again, tell the truth.

This week will contribute towards, what history will tell us was, a mistake. This week will be a week of historical context.

First, in this story of history will be what General Petraeus is now saying about the war in Afghanistan and the draw down date of July 21, 2010. He is giving his “best professional military advice” it probably will not happen.

The president has made it a point, since he was a Senator, to say that the real war on terror is in Afghanistan. His escalation, without a clear cut objective, will be the historical down fall in that theater of war. Each general and military advisor, who was in the know, has said not to get embroiled in Afghanistan. The President is now embroiled and this will be another Johnson (LBJ) moment in history.

Second, is the story of Iran? Iran will become the first Islamic nation to achieve a nuclear position of strength in the Gulf this week. On Saturday, Iran, with the help of Russia, will load a nuclear reactor with fuel rods. In a very short time, within a month or so, Iran will be able to acquire plutonium. Iran will have the capability of producing 40 to 60 plutonium based weapons from one reactor.

The State Department is relying on Russia to keep Iran honest in the manufacture and management of this weapons grade material.

Our policy in Iran, over the last two years, has been to draw a line in the sand and keep moving it back. One argument is that every country has the right to this technology. I believe that is true. However, an Islamic based radical government cannot be trusted with the destructive power of the weapons side of nuclear technology. History will tell us that, when it is too late. Until we resolve this Islamic movement around the world and tame this power hungry radical element, the world’s peace will be in jeopardy.

The third story is what is happening in New York City. The President gave his tacit approval of the Islamic Mosque and cultural center that is being proposed to be built at the site of Ground Zero. Who will argue that our Constitution does not guarantee the right to practice your religion? The Constitution guarantees that government will not establish a religion, but it does not give any religion a right to the exact place to worship. This is what the president did not say and should have said.
Since our early days as a republic, we have been fighting the Islamic State. Jefferson created the Navy to fight the Barbary Coast Pirates. These pirates were part of the Ottoman Empire that controlled the Middle East. This Islamic State held captive our ships and the ships of other foreign ports. They held sailors and officers in captivity for ransom. Our young country paid millions in ransom just to have passage way through the Gulf and that part of the world for trading purposes.

We have never really understood the Islamic faith and its rulers for two plus centuries. And we are making the mistakes that history has told us about now. Every President, since Jefferson and Jackson through Roosevelt and Truman since Reagan and the Bush’s, were trusted to keep us safe and strong. You notice I didn’t use the name of Carter and Obama, because history has told us the mistakes of Carter and it will also tell us about the mistakes that Obama is making now.

As President, you cannot give tacit approval to an enemy and a religion that has in its roots hatred towards the West and every thing the West stands for. This enemy is not only politically based, but it is a religious based enemy that is using our laws and our culture against us and we are weak to defend it and we are stupid not to.

I advanced the thought last week not to hate the man, but to hate the ideology behind the man. It is the ideology that I worry about, because most recent history has told us what the man’s ideology is and now it is warning us of what his ideology will do to us as a nation.

Our earliest emissaries warned us of the rulers in the Islamic world. History has a story and I am just letting you know a little bit of it today, so that the stories this week will become understood.

Gregory C. Dildilian
Founder and Executive Director

A footnote: There are 78 days left of this story until the midterms. We will start the countdown then to the total defeat of the progressive ideology. You notice I didn’t use Obama’s name. Remember Jefferson’s quote at the top of this FORUM!

What does it cost?

Friday – August 13, 2010

What does it cost?

This week, the new unemployment numbers came out. The number that was released represents new time claims for unemployment. The number released was 484,000 people. The Vice President said this was the summer of recovery, another platitude, another sign of symbolism over substance. The bottom line is that the President and the Vice President owned this economy when they took office.

This number represents yet another sign that the President’s economic plan is not working. This economic plan has been tried many times before and it has always failed. The reason it fails is that when people lose their job they don’t pay the taxes. This number is once again on the rise. This number will not get better, because business is still shedding employees. Business owners are not confident. Business owners are now afraid of what their bottom line will look like come January of 2011.

If these numbers of new time claimants represent one company that had to layoff one employee then we would have 484,000 companies that are now unsure of the future economic recovery and the expense of that recovery on business. It is called a tax hike.
When Government doesn’t have revenue coming in, then government must raise taxes to increase their revenue to pay for the social programs that liberals create. In this case, it is the stimulus package that has not worked and it will be the healthcare plan that the Obama Administration and the Democratic House and Senate passed. 73% of the deficit we now have has occurred under this President.

Another statistic is that, when the House is in session, it costs $19,000 per hour to run that body. That’s over $150.000 a day for an 8 hour session. There is no cost estimate on the Senate or the White House. Another stat that is not readily available is the cost of running the Federal Government. But forget that. Just look at the deficit, which is over 13 trillion dollars now. This didn’t occur under Bush, it has occurred under this administration. This White House and this Congress have spent more money than all the administrations put together. That includes George Washington thru George Bush.

New polls show that 76% of the people polled said they wanted the President to start taking responsibility for the economy and stop blaming Bush. This was a FOX news poll these numbers also are now showing up in other polls such as the Gallup poll.

When a country has the deficits that this country has, our allies will suffer, because their Foreign Aid is reduced. This Foreign Aid is needed to keep the peace and to keep our allies our allies. When a country has the deficits that this country has, our defense and national security priorities and objectives are jeopardized in ways that leave us vulnerable. When a country has the deficits that this country has, with the levels of unemployment we now have, less people are paying taxes. When people work, tax revenue goes up. It is just that simple!

What does it cost a nation when a President is not capable of making the decisions that he has been elected to do? The costs are now being seen in the numbers of the unemployed and the poll numbers that are now saying Mr. President, do your job and don’t expand the ideology that is now costing too much in terms of the resources that have kept us strong as a nation and a people!

I advanced the notion this week, that when we organize around the upcoming election and future elections, don’t use the politics of hate. Use the politics of fact and use the issues of what a failed ideology and a failed policy can do to a country. The facts are right in front of you.

Every Friday I try to leave you with a quote. Today it’s Jefferson and three things he said.

“A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned-this is the sum of good government.”

“Educate and inform the whole mass of the people… They are the only sure reliance for preservation of our liberty.”

“History, in general, only informs us of what bad government is.”

A footnote: In the 81 days remaining until we vote in the midterms use one of these quotes when you describe how you hate the ideology of progressive politics.

What are we finding out!

Thursday – August 12, 2010

What are we finding out!

Some of what we are finding out in the State Aide package, that the President is lobbying for, is that 100 million dollars will be going to the Unions. I wrote yesterday that this is payoff time for the Presidents supporters.

While all of this is happening, Robert Gibbs, the White House Press Secretary, was quoted as saying tensions are rising between the White House and liberal activists. The White House looks at these activists as being “the professional left”, because they are vocal and they criticize the Obama record. Gibbs said: “These people ought to be drug tested.” He went on to say, “They will be satisfied when we have Canadian Healthcare and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon. That’s not reality. They wouldn’t be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was President.” What we forget is that Dennis Kucinich was running for President in 2008.

Kucinich said in response to Gibbs’s comments: “It’s important for him to understand that there is great concern among liberals and a lot of other people about the fact that we have not created enough jobs, wars are continuing, civil liberties have eroded and that this is not what we signed up for.”

Why organize? It seems that the President and his Press Secretary are doing a great job at getting their base and more of their supporters mad at them for not doing enough. Don’t be fooled. This is just another ploy to keep the press and the real critics off balance.

Dr. Quentin Young, of Chicago, is a physician and also is the national coordinator of “Physicians for a National Health Program”, which advocates for a single payer system. He said he was “incredulous” after hearing about Gibb’s comment. “I believe that unless you retract the insulting description of deeply committed citizens you will drive off those of us who supported the president’s campaign and have anguished over the fruitless lurches to the right that have characterized the first half of the president’s term”, he said.

I advanced the thought that the Independents are gone from the Presidents base. So, if this is true, then the president will appear to come back to the middle and criticize those who are on the left and who are doing the criticizing. He will become a centrist in speech, but not in policies.

The press did a good job at making us believe that the Senatorial Candidate Bennet in Colorado won in yesterday’s primary, because the President endorsed him. Bennet said it was too soon to say he wanted Obama to campaign for him in the Midterm general election. Bennet will become another politician who will keep his distance from the White House, so that he survives.

So what are we finding out? The Democrats are in trouble. They have advanced too much of their philosophy for political gain and for guaranteeing a Democratic majority for them which is not necessarily good for the country. Harry Reid said: “He doesn’t know how any Hispanic can be a Republican.” When a liberal speaks, they speak in terms of personal politics. When a Liberal campaigns, they tear down the personality and demonize their opponent. When Liberals organize, they organize around heart wrenching false statistics and heart wrenching stories of the few. When Liberals organize, they organize for violent demonstrations and/or in your face politicking.

The night before last, at a dinner party, someone very close to me said that she hated Obama. I said, “You don’t hate Obama, you hate his policies, his ideology and his politics. “She stopped and thought a moment and said, “You’re right. I hate his policies and the way he conducts his politicking.”

There is a lesson in this. Don’t make your arguments with those you invite into your backyard personal. Make your arguments against bad policy, bad policy initiatives and the politics of personal politicking. I gave you a few examples of this in today’s FORUM.

You are more apt to win an argument, if you stick to the issues and stick to the failed policy of the Liberal. No one wants to be told they made a mistake, but they will listen if you can tell them why.

A footnote: There are 82 days and counting for you to tell others about the failure of policy initiatives that have been made in the last four years. No job growth, deficits that can never be paid off and an administration that plays the game of politics rather than leading a country to grab a hold of liberty and embrace the freedom that results. This is what voters must find out!

More and more spending!

Wednesday – August 11, 2010

More and more spending!

Today, the House and Senate will be holding hearings on the 26 billion dollar State Aide package that the President wants to get passed. This is nothing more than a political payoff to State workers and to Union workers. These Unions helped put the President in office.

The President said: “this should not be a partisan issue.” This is not about keeping people working, this is about keeping a Democrat majority and keeping the bribes going to those who are at the top of the Democrat party. This money that is being asked for is money that, once given, will be buried in the accounting books and will be lost in the accountability column. All this does is reward failure and reward those who are not fiscally responsible.

What about the States that have been fiscally responsible? The States that have trimmed their budgets and made the hard choices will be penalized, because they will help foot the bill for a bloated bureaucracy and the mandate that will become the law as a result of the bloated bureaucracy. Where is the choice? Where is the sanity?

There are 30 billion dollars left in the original stimulus package for teachers and union workers. Remember the original stimulus package? The President said if that didn’t pass the crisis would get worse. Well, the Democrats passed it and guess what? The crisis has gotten worse.

We must not forget Fannie May and Freddie Mac. These Public/Government Corporations are asking for 3.3 billion dollars more in public aide to keep them afloat. These institutions currently hold 58% of all the mortgages in the country. When you include the FHA that figure goes up to over 70%. These mortgages are guaranteed by the government. The 3.3 billion is only for the next quarter. These institutions have lost over 7 billion dollars in this year alone!

This is all leaning towards forgiving the mortgage debt for millions. Those who are in trouble with mortgages will get another bail out. This is how the democrats will keep their base. This is the only way the democrats can keep their base. Again, those who have been doing the right thing will bail out those who have not been responsible.

This is all fine and good, if the tax revenues coming into the government made it possible for the government to do this. The problem is the revenues are not there. The problem is the revenues aren’t there, because people are not working. The problem is this President and this administration work on the premise of blank check governing. Just throw more money at it and eventually the problem goes away. It will go away, when we become a socialist country.

If this President lowers taxes or keeps the Bush tax cuts in place he looses his base. He cannot afford to loose more of the base, so he will not make that move. He will spend and spend so that his base comes back. They will look to him for a way out, because they want the redistribution of wealth he can provide!

This is not leadership. This is a false front to keep his leadership.

This is a story that will not end. This is a story that, if left unchecked, will have devastating long term affects on the country and the free world. A story that was written more than 40 years ago details what this President and what this government is now doing. To read more about the scenario of Government, taxes, redistribution and how to do it click on to the link below and read about what Cloward and Piven prescribed. The two sociologists wrote about how to take the system over through the bureaucracy of government and redistributive policies. In an article published in The Nation on May 2, 1966. It is titled: “The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty”.

Forward this article on to friends and relatives. It will enlighten them, because of how they proposed doing it. Then compare what is happening now and what was written in 1966.

Rasmussen Reports show that 16% of likely voters say the Congress is doing a good job while 58% rate Congress as doing poorly. Republican candidates hold a seven – point lead over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot. A new Rasmussen Report national telephone survey finds that 46% of likely voters would vote for their districts Republican Congressional candidate, while 39% would opt for the Democrat opponent. Voters not affiliated with either party prefer the republican candidate by a 46% to 28% margin. In July, the Republicans slipped a point while the number of unaffiliated voters gained a point. This trend demonstrates more support for Independents and those that do not want a status quo candidate.

Part of the organizing strategy is to support those candidates that are not part of the status quo on spending and redistributive policies. Part of the organizing strategy is to support candidates who believe in the Constitution and its intent of limiting government. Question the candidates who have now won the early primary contest and make sure they support less government and do not support the current redistributive policies of the administration and this Congress. Let them know they will be accountable and that the litmus test will be applied to them.

The Democrats will soon be running on the platform that the Republicans drove the car into the ditch and that the Democrats are the ones to pull it out. Don’t be fooled! The Democrats have been in power for 4 years and they have held the White House for two years. This is when the car went into the ditch.

Bill Clinton is out campaigning. There will be a test of who wins. Will it be the candidates that Obama supports or the ones that Bill Clinton supports? This will be the story going forward in the remaining weeks of this year’s primary season.

A footnote: There are 83 days left in this midterm cycle. Yesterday, I asked you to get people in your backyard and to discuss the issues. Today, I gave you two things to talk about: spending and redistributive policies. Don’t forget to send the Cloward and Piven article to those you want in your back yard.

In his own backyard!

As many of you know, I was not publishing last week. I was in Chicago and that is where we had our daughter’s wedding. It went off without a hitch and it was a great party!

The feel of a city that is exuberant by its spirit is exciting to see. It is not the politician that makes it so. It is the people that make up that culturally diverse city and its many neighborhoods.

Governor Blagojevich was in the news re: his trial, as was the President. The President celebrated his birthday and slowed up the traffic to that of a snails pace. I joked in my speech, before the toast, that the President had invited me to yet another summit. I had said that I had to decline; as I had my daughter’s wedding to attend to. I got many cheers!

In talking to shop owners and others, I had found disappointment in the direction of their favorite son. I had found confusion and frustration in what their favorite son had done and had not done. I had found a great deal of lost support. This came mainly from young people.

I had a conversation with a young girl who had a graduate degree and who was working in a popcorn store. Her frustration was due to the lack of job creation for young graduates and the state of escalating costs.

In another conversation, I had with an older gentleman who had to collect social security earlier than he wanted he said that he “was looking for work for the last 19 months.” He was 62 and had gone through his savings. This was in the President’s own backyard.

New statistics show that more people filed for Social Security in 2009 – 2.74 million more than any other year in history. There was a marked increase in the number receiving reduced benefits, because they filed ahead of the retirement age. The increase came as the full social security retirement age rose last year from 65 to age 66. Of that figure, 72% were men who filed for early benefits. More women also filed – 74.7% up from 64.2% in 2008.

As I prepare for yet another week, I am also meeting with my web master to make some final decisions on the content aspects of the website. We are now entering the fall phase of the midterm election. I sense a great deal of frustration on the part the voter and I sense a renewed participation on the part of the voter that will not end on November 2nd, 2010.

I sense that new statistics will continue to be a part of the story of the Presidents failed agenda. I saw it on the streets in Chicago, in the Presidents own backyard!
